The pocket square. We call this the cherry on top. It doesn’t make the entire outfit, but it can be the one piece that makes you standout from the others around you. It’s a piece of the gentleman’s wardrobe that many overlook. Dating back to the 14th century, embroidered pocket squares were worn by French noblemen.
There is one rule about the pocket square that many do not realize; your pocket square should not exactly match your tie. This is considered to be a major faux pas in pocket square etiquette. The pocket aquare is the finishing touch that goes just as well with a blazer and open shirt as it does with a suit and tie.
If you wear a pocket square with a tie, it can complement the tie or the shirt. If you decide to lose the tie, this makes your decision a little easier. With this look you can choose to match the shirt or yo may choose for a contrast. There really are no pocket square rules other than what we mentioned before which is, your pocket square should not exactly match your tie.
Before the pocket square, comes the suit. If you are looking for a fresh look you have to see our menswear line, The SOCIAL List. All looks have been created by Ruby Bhandari and they will make your look the talk of the night.
